We Do Not Offer a Two Day Package
RATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Children: Due to the nature of the property and the activities offered at Mars Bay Bonefish Lodge, it is unsuitable for younger children who require adult supervision. Respectfully, as a courtesy to other lodge guests, bringing children under the age of 12 is not allowed.
- No Half-Day Fishing Rates. The cost of fuel and a guide to the lodge is the same whether it is a half or full-day fishing.
- All guides are rotated daily.
- We do not offer reef or bluewater fishing.
- We do not offer snorkeling.
- NON-FISHING RATES – All SLOTS ARE RESERVED FOR FISHING GUEST ONLY
INCLUDED IN THE RATES
Package rates include transportation to and from Congo Town (TZN), room tax, VAT tax, accommodations, wireless internet, meals, boat, and guide.
Also included is free wine, beer, and alcohol, EXCEPT in the boat. The house will buy two beers per person to take on the boat. Additional beers for the boat are $5 each. The cost has nothing to do with it. It’s about bad behavior. Did you come to get drunk or go fishing? There’s plenty of time for that at the lodge.
Alcoholic beverages in stock are Kalik beer, Appletons and Mount Gay rum, Bombay Sapphire gin, Grey Goose vodka, Jack Daniels, Jim Beam bourbon, Dewars and J&B scotch, and table wines in Cabernet, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. If you would like something in particular such as a bottle of 15-year-old single malt scotch or a special bottle of wine you’ll have to bring it with you.
Fishing License – Included in the rate is a WEEKLY fishing license. However, not included in the rate is an ANNUAL license. On arrival, there is an additional fee of $60 for an annual license.

Tips – All tips must be paid in cash. Please bring enough cash to cover tips and other incidentals while on the island. There is no ATM on the island.
Air Travel – to/from Congo Town is not included. You are responsible for making these arrangements.
LAUNDRY SERVICE – NO DAILY LAUNDRY SERVICE! NO, YOU MAY NOT USE THE WASHER AND DRYER! We ask that all guests pick one day a week that they would like laundry done and combine their laundry. Once we have a load, the maid will wash and fold your laundry. Although she does this from the kindness in her heart, an additional tip at the end of the week is appropriate. Please leave her something extra at the end of your stay.
GUIDE TIP – $125 per day per boat – Please tip your guide daily upon arrival at the dock.
HOUSEKEEPING/KITCHEN STAFF – $40 per night per guest. Do not tip the staff directly; the maids are forgotten. The manager collects the House staff tip at the end of your stay.
Finally, remember to tip your taxi Driver.
Reservations / Deposits / Cancellations / Reschedules:
To secure your dates, a deposit or full payment is required. Unsecured slots will not be held, and reservations necessitate a 50% deposit within 14 days of booking. Failure to make the deposit within this timeframe will result in the release of your slots. The balance is due 90 days before arrival. Reservations made within 90 days of arrival require full payment.
Travel Insurance: We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance from Travelguard, which covers cancellations due to illness, accidents, weather, or terrorism. However, please note that standard policies do not cover virus or pandemic-related concerns, fear of travel, or destination inaccessibility.
Please understand that Mars Bay Bonefish Lodge does not reschedule, credit, or refund rates for any reason, including illness, accidents, weather, terrorism, weddings, or asteroid strikes. We strongly advise purchasing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances. Our cancellation policy allows for a full refund for cancellations made 91 days or more prior to arrival. However, no refunds, credits, or rescheduling are granted for cancellations made within 90 days of arrival. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this policy is necessary to sustain our business operations.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you contact the lodge more than 90 days before your arrival, a refund will be issued, allowing time to fill your slot. However, cancellations within 90 days won’t receive credits, rescheduling, or refunds. Some may find this policy rude, but it’s crucial to our business. We hold slots for extended periods, missing out on multiple opportunities to sell your slot. Rescheduling equals a loss of your trip cost, as it occupies a future slot that cannot be sold. For instance, rescheduling a November trip to March means losing the opportunity to sell the March slot.
Additionally, accommodating a reschedule while still fishing the partner as a single at the double occupancy rate results in a significant loss for the lodge. We can’t afford such losses and must maintain a firm policy. Remember, a standard trip insurance policy won’t cover these scenarios without appropriate documentation. You’ll need a note from your doctor. In any case, please purchase travel insurance.

Receipt of deposit or final payment is an acknowledgment that you have read and accepted the deposits, cancellations, and refund policy.
